ACT Gifted Support is a local support group affiliated with the NSWAGTC,
made up of volunteers, all parents of gifted children.

We aim to provide support for gifted children and their families by way of
organising fun and education activities, guest speakers, family days and
general information and guide to other resources. The group also provides
support and information for parents of Twice Exceptional/Gifted Learning
Disabled (GLD) children.

The association regularly holds activities for children and information

Art of living Part 1 course is an interactive workshop of 18 hours spread over 6 days. Extremely effective and revolutionary techniques are taught which help an individual deal with the day-to-day stresses of life, thereby promoting a better quality of life and increased happiness and peace. Australia's Helping Hand (AU) is a Canberra based charity setup to start Internet and Technology Schools in Vietnam to train the older orphans in the trade and then find them work once they graduate.
Once an orphan turns 16 he or she must leave to make way for the younger ones to enter.
When they leave they leave without any skills so most if not all finish on the streets for survival.
Once there the risk of becoming a victim of sexual exploitation is just one of the dangers facing young people in Vietnam. Many children leave their families and villages to seek jobs in urban areas -- and thousands end up on the street. Once there, they risk falling foul of drug abuse, which puts them at risk of HIV/ AIDS, or of coming into conflict with the law.
